Secrets of Success

 






1. Sleep less. This is one of the best investments you can make to your life more productive and rewarding. Most people do not need more than 6 hours to maintain an excellent state of health. Try getting up one hour earlier for 21 days and it will develop into a powerful habit. Remember, it is the quality not the quantity of sleep that is important. And just imagine having an extra 30 hours a month to spend on the things that are important to you.

2.Set aside one hour every morning for personal development matters. Meditate, visualize your day, read inspirational texts to set the tone of your day, listen to motivational tapes or read great literature. Take this quiet period to vitalize and energize your spirit for the productive day ahead. Watch the sun rise once a week or be with nature. Starting the day off well is powerful strategy for self-renewal and personal effectiveness.

3. Do not allow those those things that matter the most in your life be at the mercy of activities that matter the least. Every day, take the time to ask yourself the question "is the best use of my time and energy?" Time management is life management so guard your time with great care.

4. Use the rubber band method to Condition your mind to focus solely on the most positive elements in your life. Place a rubber band around your wrist. Each time a negative, energy sapping thought enters your mind, snap the rubber band. Through the power of conditioning, your mind will associate pain with negative thinking, and you will soon possess a strongly positive mindset.

5. Always answer the phone with enthusiasm in your voice and show your appreciation for the caller. Good phone manners are essential. To convey authority on the line, stand up. This will instill further confidence in your voice.

6. Throughout the day we all get inspiration and excellent ideas. Keep a set of cards (the size of business cards; available at most stationary stores) in your wallet along with a pencil to jot down these insights. When you get home, put the ideas in a central place such as a coil notepad and review them from time to time. As noted by Oliver Wendell Holmes: "Man/'s mind, once stretched by a new idea, never regains it regains its original dimensions."

7. Set aside every Sunday Evening for yourself and be strongly disciplined with this habit. Use this period to plan your week, visualize your encounters and what you want to achieve, to read new materials and inspirational books, to listen to soft soothing music and to simply relax. This habit will serve as your anchor to keep you focused, motivated and effective throughout the coming week.

8. Always remember the key principle that the quality of your life is the quality of your communication, this means the quality of you communicate with others and, more importantly, the way you communicate with yourself. What you focus on is what you get. If you look for the positive this is what you get. if you look for the positive this is what you get. This is a fundamental law of nature.

9. Stay on purposes, not on outcome. In other words, do the task because it will help someone or is a valuable exercise. Don/'t do it for the money or the recognition. Those will come naturally. This is the way of the world.

10. Laugh for five minutes in the mirror each morning. Steve Martin does. laughter activates many beneficial chemicals within the body that place us into a very joyous state. Laughter also returns the body to a state of balance. laughter therapy has been regularly used to heal persons with varied ailments and is a wonderful tonic for life/'s ills. While the average 4-year-old laughs 500 times a day, the average adult is lucky to laugh 15 times a day. Revitalize the habit of laughter, it will put far more living into your life.

Dream big Dreams

 






  • A Journey Through Italy                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                   Let me tell you a story. Some years ago, I took my family to Italy on vacation. We toured several of the great art museums of Rome and Florence. In Florence, there is a special museum that was built to house the statue of David created by Michelangelo several hundred years ago. This is perhaps the most beautiful piece of sculpture in the world. The actual physical experience of begin in the same room with it is something that none of us has ever forgotten.                          The story of the creation the David is very interesting and contains a lesson for all of us. Michelangelo was commissioned by the Medicis to create a statue for the main square in Florance. The Medicis were the wealthiest and most powerful family of Italy at the time. A commission for a statue from the Medicis was not only a great honor; it was also a task that could not be refused. For two years, Michelangelo searched for a block of stone out of which he could create the kind of master the Medicis were looking for.                                                                      Finally, on a side street of Florance, partially overgrown with weeds and covered with dirt, he found a huge slab of marble lying on wooden trestles. It had been hauled down from the mountains years before and had never been used.                                                                              Michelangelo had walked past this street many times, but this he stopped and looked more closely. As he walked back and forth studying the block of marble, he actually envisioned the statue of David and saw it in its entirety.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                       
  • Great Success Requires Long, Hard Work                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                      The sculptor quickly arranged to have workmen haul the block of marble to his studio some distance away. He then began the long, hard job of hammering and chiseling. It took him two solid years of work to create the rough outline of the statue. He then put his hammers and chisels aside and spent two more years polishing and sandling before the statue was complete.                  Michelangelo was already famous as a sculptor, and the news that he was working on a major commission for the Medicis spread all over Italy. When the day came for its first public viewing, thousands of people came from all over Italy and gathered in the main square. When it was unveiled, the crowd stood gaping in awe. It was breathtaking beautiful. People cheered. Women Fainted. The audience was amazed at the incredible beauty of the enormous statue. Michelangelo was immediately recognized as the greatest sculptor of his age.                                                        Afterward, when Michelangelo was asked how he was able to create such a masterpiece, he replied by saying that he saw the David complete and perfect in the marble. All he did was to remove everything that was not the David.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                  
  • You Are a Masterpiece                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                    There are many parallels between yourself and the David. You are very much like a great masterpiece enclosed in marble as well. But the marble that envelops you, and most other people, is the marble of small, limited thinking and excessive worry about the possibilities of loss or failure, rather than an excited anticipation of the rewards of success and achievement.                    To realize your full potential, your greatest need is to break out of your limited thinking by dreaming big dreams and imaging unlimited possibilities. You need to remove all the negative beliefs that hold you back from becoming all you are capable of becoming.                                    But remember, even after the David had been released from the marble, it took Michaelangelo two solid years of sanding and polishing to turn it into a masterpiece. In the same way, you also have to work on yourself, sanding and polishing, learning and practicing, for days, weeks, months, and years, to develop and bring out all the talents and abilities that lie deep inside of you.

All peak performers are what are called "blue-sky thinkers." They continually allow their minds to float freely when they think about what is possible for them. They look at the unlimited blue sky above them as the only limit to everything and anything that they could possibly be or have or do.                                              Successful people continually practice "back from the future" thinking. They project into the future several years and imagine what their lives would look like if they had achieved all of their goals. They look back to the present, from the future, like looking from the top of a high mountain down to where they are actually standing in the valley, in the present. They then look at the path that they would have to take to get to where they want to be in the future.                          By the law of correspondence, whatever you can Clearly see on the inside, you will eventually experience on the outside. You should therefore visualize your goals with as much clarity and vividness as possible. Visualize yourself the same feeling that you would have if you had already achieved your goals. Visualize your goals frequently. Replay a picture of your goals, as if you had already realized it, on the screen of your mind as many times a day as you possibly can. Visualize your goals for as long as you possibly can, preferably just before falling asleep each night.            Repeat these exercises of visualization-vividness, intensity, frequency, and duration-until your goals become absolutely clear, living, breathing, exciting, clear pictures in your mind. The more skilled you became at moving from the dream through the goal to the visualization, the more motivated and determined you will be. The more clarity you develop, the more courage and confidence you will have, and the more unstoppable you will become.

Zoology studies the origin and development of animal species, the habits and behavior of animals, and the interaction between animals and their environment. Students of Aristotle's pragmeteiai will be delighted by this monograph in which, for the first time in a book-length study, Systematic attention is given to Aristotle's language, style and method of literary composition. Traditionally, this has often been dismissing, rather crudely, as 'lecture notes' or 'Notizenstil', as opposed to the 'golden fluency' which, according to Cicero, Characterized Aristotle's (lost) dialogues; and the undeniable clumsiness and carelessness of parts of Aristotle's surviving writings has long prevented classicists from taking a closer interest in the intricacies of Aristotelian discourse. However, with the advent of reception studies, discourse analysis, the study of the pragmatic function of texts ( rather than their supposed literary or non-literacy nature), and the renewed interest taken in rhetorical any student of Aristotle will recognize that, however impersonal the tone of his works and however careless the structure of his argument may appear, his writings nonetheless contain a hidden but undeniable psychagogic rhetoric that is clearly meant to make the reader agree with his conclusions, for example, in the subtle balance between confident explanation and seemingly genuine uncertainly, resulting in a careful alternation of dogmatic statements and exploratory suggestions. These, and many other features of Aristotle's way of writing, are the subject of Lengen's book (a revised Ph.D. thesis from Freiburg University, one of the many interesting fruits from the 'Mundlichkeit and Schriftlichkeit' program directed by Wolfgang Kullmann). L. takes his cute from what Aristotle himself says in Metaphysics a (and elsewhere) about the ideal recipient of his discourses. Aristotle is clearly aware of the ways in which a scientific discussion of a topic should take account of the knowledge, background, needs and expectations of its intended audience (e.g., in the level of accuracy and technicality, the level of background knowledge to be presupposed, the nature of the arguments used). Thus, he could be said to reflect an early awareness of what in reception studies has come to be known as the 'Appell Struktur' of texts. It should be noted that, although L. Is obviously familiar with reception theory, his method is largely and refreshingly descriptive, and his use of theoretical terminology.

National Freedom Day

 






National Freedom Day is a United States observance on February 1 honoring the signing by President Abraham Lincoln of a joint house and Senate resolution that later was ratified as the 13th Amendment to the U.S Constitution. President Lincoln signed the Amendment abolishing slavery on February 1, 1865, although it was not ratified by the states until later.                                                                                                                                                                                                                              

Every year, India commemorates the Rising Day of the Indian Cost Guard (ICG) on February 1. ICG is marking its 46th Raising Day this year. ICG was originally formed in the year 1977 on February 1 under the Indian Parliament's coast Guard Act, 1978.

He hoped to see a day that would be dedicated to celebrating freedom for all Americans.

The first commemoration of such a day took place on February 1, 1942, although it was not made into law yet. A June 30, 1948, President Harry Truman signed a bill to proclaim February 1 as the first official National Freedom Day in United States.

Diversity In Living Organisms


Biodiversity means the diversity of life forms. It is a word commonly used to refer to the variety of life forms found in a particular region. Diverse life forms share the environment and are affected by each other too. As a result, a stable community of different species comes into together.

Monera

These types of Organism do not have a well-defined nucleus or organelle, nor do any of them represent multi-cellular body designs. They also show diversity based on many different characteristics. Some of them have cell walls while others do not. Of course, having or not having a cell well has very different effects on body design. The mode of nutrition in this group can be either by making their own food (autotrophic) or getting it from includes bacteria, blue-green algae (cyanobacteria) and mycoplasma. Some examples are shown in below Fig. 



Protista

This group includes many types of unicellular eukaryotic organisms. Some of such organisms use appendages, such as hair-like cilia or whip-like flagella for moving. Their mode of nutrition may be autotrophic or heterotrophic. Examples are unicellular algae, diatoms and protozoans.


Fungi

These are actually heterotrophic eukaryotic organisms some of them use decaying organic matter as food and are therefore called saprotrophs. Other require a living protoplasm of a host organism for food. They are called parasites. Most of them have the capacity to became multicellular organisms at many stages in their lives. They have cell-walls made of a hard complex sugar called chitin. Examples are yeasts, molds and mushrooms.

Some fungal species live in permanent (mutually dependent) relationships with blue green algae. Such relationships are known as symbiotic. These symbiotic life forms are called lichens. Lichens are the slow growing large colored patched on the bark of trees.


Plantae

These are multicellular eukaryotes with cell walls. They are generally autotrophs and use chlorophyll for photosynthesis. Thus, all plants are considered in this group. As plants and animals are most visible forms of the diversity of life around us. We shall discuss about sub-groups in this category in section.

Animalia

This group includes all organisms which are multicellular eukaryotes without cell walls. They are heterotrophs. Now, we will look at their subgroups in section.

Thallophytes

Plants which do not have well-differentiated body design fall in this group. The plants of this group are called algae. These plants are mainly equating. Examples this group are Spirogyra, Ultrix, Cladophora, Ulva and Chara.



Bryophyta

These are amphibians of the plant kingdom. The plant body is differentiated to form stem and leaf-like structures. But there is specialized tissue for the transportation of water and other substance from one part to another. Examples of this type are Moos (Funaria) and Marchantia.


Pteridophytes

In this class, the plant body is differentiated into roots, stem and leaves and has special tissue for the conduction of water and other substances from one part to another. Examples of this type are Marsilea, ferns and horse- tails. 
The reproductive organs of plants in all three groups are very inconspicuous, and they are called cryptogams' means 'those with hidden reproductive organs.



While plants with-different reproductive parts that finally make seeds are called phanerogams actually, seeds are the result of the sexual reproductive process. They consist of the embryo with stored food, which assists for the initial growth of the embryo during germination. This group is again classified on the basis of the fact that seeds are naked or enclosed in fruits, giving two groups: gymnosperms and angiosperms.  


Gymnosperms

The word gymnosperms is derived from the two Greek word: gymno-means naked and sperm-means seed. This group of plants bears naked seeds and are generally perennial, evergreen and woody. Examples of this group are pines and deodar.




Angiosperms

This term is made from two Greek words: angio means covered and sperma means seed. Plants of this group are also called flowering plants: In this group, the seeds develop inside an ovary which is modified to become a fruit. Plant embryos in seeds have structure called cotyledons. These Cotyledons are called 'seeds leaves' because in many cases they emerge and become green when the seed germinates These angiosperms are classified into two groups on the basis of the number of cotyledons present in the seed. The plants in which seeds have a single cotyledon are called monocotyledonous or monocots and the plants with seeds having two cotyledons are called dicots.



Porifera

This word means organisms with holes. These are non-motile animals attached to solid support. There are holes or 'Pores' present on whole body. These lead to formation of a canal system that helps in circulating water throughout the body to take in food and oxygen. These animals are covered with a hard layer or Skelton. Their body design involves very minute differentiation and division into tissues. These are commonly known as sponges and are found in marine habitats. Some examples are shown in Fig.


 

Coelenterate 

These animals are found in water. These have more body design differentiations. There is a cavity in the 

body. The body is made of two main layers of cells: one which makes up cells on the outer side of the body, and the other which makes the inner lining of the body, some of the species live in colonies (corals), while others have solitary like-span (Hydra). Jellyfish and sea anemones are common examples of this type.

Platyhelminthes

The body of animals of this group is complexly designed than in the two other groups. They body is bilaterally symmetrical, means that the left and the right halves of the body have the same design. These animals are called triploblastic because there are three layers of cells from which differentiated tissues can be made. This allows outside and inside of body linings as well as some organs to the formation of tissue. However, there is no real internal body cavity or coelom, in which well-developed organs can be accommodated. The body is flattened dorsoventrally, (means from top to bottom), that is why these animals are called flatworms. They are either free living or parasitic. Some examples of free-living animals are planarians, or parasitic animals as liver flukes.


Nematoda

The nematode body is also bilaterally symmetrical and trophoblastic. However, this body is cylindrical rather than flattened. Tissues are found there, but no real organs, although a type of body cavity or a pseudo coelom, is found there. These are very familiar as parasitic worms causing diseases, for example, the as parasitic worms causing diseases, for example, the worms causing elephantiasis (filarial warm) or the 


worms in the intestine as roundworms or pinworms. Some examples are given in Fig.

Annelida

The animals are also bilaterally symmetrical and triploblastic, but these have a true body cavity. This allows true organs to be packed in the body structure. Thus, there is extensive organ differentiation. This differentiation takes place in a segmental fashion, with the segments lined up one after are found in number of habitats-fresh water, marine water as well as land. Earthworms and leeches are the examples of these type of animals.





Arthropoda

This group is probably the largest group of animals. These animals are bilaterally symmetrical and segmented. An open circulatory system is found there and so, the blood does not flow in definite blood vessels. The coelomic cavity is full of blood. These have joined legs (the word 'arthropod' means 'jointed legs'). Some examples are prawns, scorpions, butterflies, houseflies, spiders and crabs.



Mollusca

These types of animals have bilateral symmetry. There is little segmentation and coelomic cavity is reduced. These animals have an open circulatory system and kidney-like organs for excretion. These have a foot that is used for moving around. Examples are snails and mussels.



Echinodermata's 

In Greek language, ehino means hedgehog (spiny mammal), and derma means skin. These are spiny skinned and free-living marine animals. These animals are triploblastic and have a coelomic cavity. these also have a peculiar water-driven tube system that is used for moving around. These have hard calcium carbonate structures which are used as a Skelton. Examples of such type are sea-stars and sea urchins.




Protochordata

These animals are mainly bilaterally symmetrical, triploblastic and have a coelom. These show a new feature of body design. called notochord, at some stages during their lives. The notochord is a long rod--like support structure (chord=string) that moves along the back of the animal separating the nervous tissue form the Gutt. It gives a place for muscles to attach for each of movement. Protochordates may not have a proper notochord present at all stages in their lives or for the entire length of the animal. Protochordates are marine examples are balanoglossus, herdemania and amphioxus.


Vertebrata

These animals have a real vertebral column and internal Skelton, having a completely different distribution of muscles for movement.
Vertebrates are bilaterally symmetrical, coelomic, triploblastic and segmented, having complex differentiation of body tissues and organs. All chordates have the following features:

(a) have a notochord
(b) have a dorsal nerve cord
(c) are triploblastic 
(d) are coelmatic
(e) have paired gill pouches Vertebrates are divided into six classes.

(i) Cyclostomata

Cyclostomes are jawless vertebrates. They are characterized by having an elongated eel-like body, circular mouth, slimy skin and are scale less. They are ectoparasites or borers of other vertebrates. Petromyzon (Lamprey) and Myxine (Hagfish) are examples.




(ii) Pisces

These are fish. These are exclusively water-living animals. Their skin is covered with scales or plates. These obtain oxygen dissolved in the water. These breathe thought gills. Their body is streamlined, and a muscular tail is used for movement. These are cold-blooded and have two chambered hearts unlike the four that humans have. These animals lay eggs, for examples, fish, with some skeletons made of cartilages, such as sharks, and some with a Skelton made of both bone and cartilage, such as tuna or rohu fish.

                        

(iii) Amphibia

These types of animals differ from the fish in the lack of scale and in having mucus glands in the skin. These have a three-chambered heart. Respiration occurs through either gills or lungs. These animals lay eggs. These types of animals are found both in water and on land. toads and salamanders are some examples of this type.



(iv) Reptilia

These animals are cold-blooded, having scales and breathe through lungs. Most of these have a three-chambered heart, whereas crocodiles have four heart chambers. These animals lay eggs with tough coverings and do not need to lay eggs in water, unlike amphibians. Snakes, turtles, lizards and crocodiles also fall in this category.



(v) Aves

Aves are warm-blooded animals and have a four-chambered heart. These lay eggs. These animals have an outside covering of feathers, and two forelimbs are used for flight. The animals of this group breathe through lings. All birds count in this category.



(vi) Mammalia

Mammalia are also warm-blooded animals having four-chambered hearts. All mammals have mammary glands for the production of milk to nourish their young ones. their young ones. Their skin is covered with hairs as well as sweat and oil glands. Most mammals produce their young ones/But, a few of these such as platypus and the echidna lay eggs, and some, like kangaroos give birth to poorly developed young ones. Some example are given in Fig. The classification scheme of animals is shown in Fig.
